Clyde Rodger Kinney

July 7, 1942 ~ August 1, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old


Clyde Rodger Kinney, Sr of Slippery Rock, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at the VNA Hospice facility in Butler following a brief illness. He was 75.

Clyde was born in Prospect on July 7, 1942 a son of the late Joseph and Hazel (Hodge) Kinney.  He had been self employed having owned and operated Kinney Lumber for more than 30 years until his retirement in 2006. He enjoyed spending a hard day’s work out in the woods of western Pennsylvania. Any time he could spend outdoors made him happy, especially when he could spend that time fishing at Moraine or napping under a tree. He would do anything to help a friend, and deeply loved his family. Clyde had proudly served his country having served with the U.S Army Reserves.

Clyde is survived by his; girlfriend and caretaker, Maggie Johnson, children Rhonda (Steve) Houston, Chip Kinney, and Kristy Kinney (Joe Moore) and their mother, Ann Kinney, siblings, Paul Kinney, Art "Ike" Kinney, Joann and Yvonne, 12 Grandsons and 3 Granddaughters along with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his; parents, Joseph and Hazel Kinney, siblings, Joseph "Bob" Kinney, Sam Kinney, Floyd Kinney and Jim Kinney.

It was Clyde’s desire that no services be held and that those wishing may make memorial tributes in his name to either the Homeless Vets, PO Box 7001, Greenwood, Indiana 46142-6412 or to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Drive, Pittsburgh, Pa. 15205 Condolences and memories may be shared with the family online at www.raisleyfuneralhome.com
