Joanne Critchlow Rodgers

February 22, 1922 ~ July 18, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Lois Joan Joanne Critchlow Rodgers, age 95, of Prospect, formerly of Pittsburgh, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at Holy Family Manor in Pittsburgh following an illness.

Born February 22, 1922 in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Roscoe and Lois Lepley Critchlow.

She retired as a Home Economics Teacher from Woodland Hills School District.

She was a founding member of the Prospect Area Preservation Society, where she provided Critchlow family history and enjoyed setting up displays.  She belonged to the College Club at Carnegie Mellon University.

Her hobbies included reading, genealogy, gardening and she enjoyed making many kinds of different crafts.

Loving mother of Mary Jo (Jim) Rogenmoser of Millington TN, William “Buck” Rodgers of Greensburg, Alice (Bill) Murtha of Pittsburgh, Margaret “Maggie” (Kenny) O’Leary of Pittsburgh, grandmother of 7 granddaughters, and great grandmother of 6 great grandsons.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William J. Rodgers, who passed away in 1993, her sister Eliza Critchlow, and her brother Ross Critchlow.

Family services will be held Saturday at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.  Rev. Jim Hargis, Chaplain at Gateway Hospice, Pittsburgh, will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Prospect Area Preservation Society, PO Box 586, Prospect, PA, 16052.
