Merle Edward Sefton

Merle Edward Sefton, age 84, of Franklin Twp., Butler, passed away Friday evening in the Chicora Medical Center, Chicora.

Born May 20, 1932 in Parkers Landing, Armstrong County, he was the son of the late John and Priscilla Roberts Sefton.

He was the owner operator of Sefton Excavating and Trucking businesses.  He was a mechanic and loved working in his garage.

Surviving is his loving wife Mary Jane Fisher Sefton, who he was married to for over 50 years; his children: Thomas (Deborah) Sefton of Butler, Larry (Vicki) Sefton of Portersville; his grandchildren:  Damien (Heather) Kniess of Connoquenessing Twp., Fallon (Josh) Dick of Prospect, Dustin “Bugs” Sefton of Colorado Springs, CO, Haley “Bean” Sefton of Culpeper, VA; Seven Great Grandchildren; and his sister Marlene Michaels of Twinsburg, OH.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Judy Sefton, two infant sons, and his siblings.

Visitation will be on Sunday, June 12, 2016, from 5pm to 8pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.   Additional visitation will be on Monday, June 13^th, from 11am to the closing service at 1pm.
