Neil Duane Watt

Neil Duane Watt, Shaffer Road, Ellwood City (Slippery Rock Twp.) passed away Monday, Afternoon (February 22, 2016) at the Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.  He was 57.

He was born in Butler on January 10, 1959 a son of Dennis Alan and Thelma Jean (Double) Watt.  He had attended the Slippery Rock Area Schools until having relocated with his family to Georgia where he graduated from the Jones County High School.  He had worked as a tree trimmer and logger most of his life and went onto own and operate Watt Tree and Logging Service operating in the Ellwood City and New Castle area.  Neil, is remembered by his family for his strong work ethic and for his love for the out of doors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He had been a former member of the Grove City Baptist Church.

He is survived by his son, Neil Duane Watt, Jr. and his wife Judy  of Chicora, his mother, Thelma Jean Guntrum of Butler, Three brothers, Gary Watt of Prospect, Thomas Watt of Harmony and Darrell Watt of Grover Beach, CA., Three grandchildren, Kaylee Watt, Trevor Watt and David Dunmire.

He was preceded in death by his father, his step father, Robert D. Guntrum and his best friend and brother, David Watt.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 25, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm at the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.  Funeral service will follow at 8:00 pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Cort, of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, officiating.    Internment at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery, Middle Lancaster Twp.
