David Alexander Brown, Jr, age 69, of Renfrew passed away late Tuesday evening, July 24, 2018 at the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.
Born August 19, 1948 in Kittanning, he was the son of the late David Alexander Brown, Sr and Isabelle Irene Schall Brown.
He was a member of the St John’s Lutheran Old Stone Church, Harmony, and also enjoyed attending the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Prospect.
After forty plus years, he retired as a machinist from Industrial Machine, Inc. in Zelienople.
He belonged to the BUCO’s Camping Group. He also enjoyed camping at various campgrounds with his wife, where one of his favorites was Cook Forest State Park.
David enjoyed the outdoors. He loved hunting with his son and grandchildren, gardening, woodworking, and watching the hummingbirds and deer from his front porch swing.
He is survived by his loving wife Robbie “Robin” Ann Henderson Brown, whom he married November 7, 1969; his son and daughter in law David J. and Barbara Brown, of Prospect; his three grandchildren Amanda, LeeAnn, and Alex Brown; his sisters Jane (William) Cravener of Chicora, Nancy (Donald) Cravener of Chicora, Geraldine McIntyre of Kittanning, Dolores Ferraro of Kittanning, his Aunt Bert Schall of Indianapolis, IN, and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his infant son Jason William Brown, and two nephews.
Visitation will be on Sunday, July 29, 2018, from 1pm to 4pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. The funeral service will be on Monday, July 30, 2018, 11am at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, 143 Church Street, Prospect, with Pastor Gary Brown, his church pastor officiating, and with Pastor Chris Roberts, Pastor of the Portersville Bible Church, co-officiating.
Interment will be in St. John’s Lutheran Old Stone Church, Harmony, PA.
