Gary Eugene Frederick, age 66, of Butler, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017 at the Butler Memorial Hospital Emergency Room.
Born December 17, 1950 in Braddock, Allegheny County, he was the son of the late Robert Eugene and Delores Irene Hartzfeld Frederick.
He was a 1969 graduate of Freeport High School.
Gary had worked at Heckett Plant 21 in Natrona Heights, on the Road Crew for Buffalo Twp., at the Butler Agway, and retired as the parts man at Ritenour Equipment in Butler.
He was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, 48th FIS, where he was a fighter jet crew chief from September 1969 to September 1975.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #117, PA Sherriff Association, NRA, and the Harley Owners’ Group. He was a former member of the Buffalo Twp. Fire Dept.
Gary loved his pets, car cruising with his ’64 Chevy, riding his Harley Davidson Road King, and dancing with his wife and the Butler Two Steppers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Barbara Marie Green Frederick, who he married June 22, 1974, his Doberman Levi, five cats Peanut, Chelsea, Boots, Freddy, and Harley, two brothers, two uncles Michael Frederick and Robert Hartzfeld, a niece Stacey (Jay) Frederick Tate, a nephew Adam (Jessica) Frederick, and great nieces and nephews Ashleigh Tate, Hunter Tate, Payton Frederick, and Carlie Frederick.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his in-laws Frank and Grace M. Green.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. The funeral service will be on Thursday, 11am, in the funeral home, with Rev. Dr. Stephen Franklin, pastor of Meridian United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park, Butler.
