Bernice Donna (Eakin) McCandless

Bernice Donna (Eakin) McCandless, age 83, of Butler, passed away early Monday morning, February 16, 2015, at her daughter’s home.

Born September 28, 1931, in Boyers, she was the daughter of the late William Roy and Ester Phipps Eakin.

She was a member of the Unionville Presbyterian Church, and the Unionville Fire Hall Woman’s Auxiliary.

She enjoyed attending NASCAR races for years.

She is survived by her children:  David McCandless of Eau Claire; Ronny (Pat) McCandless of Fawn Grove, PA; Robert (Lila) McCandless of Butler; Lee Roy (Cathy) McCandless of Butler; and her daughter Darla (Richard) Marks of Butler, 14 Grandchildren; 6 Great Grandchildren; one sister-in-law Glenda Eakin of Grove City; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Clarence McCandless, who she married September 28, 1951 and passed away November 5, 2004; son Dennis McCandless; one grandson; and her brother Harold Eakin.

Arrangements are private and have been entrusted to the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.

Interment will be private in the Unionville Cemetery, Butler.
