Daniel J. Swartz

Daniel Joseph Swartz, age 54, of Butler; passed away Sunday, May 7,2023 at Allegheny General Hospital following a brief illness, with his family by his side.

Born February 5,1969 in Pittsburgh, PA; he is the son of Daniel J. and Theresa M. Klir Swartz.

He was presently employed as the Vice President of Marketing at WesBanco Bank, Inc., at the Ellwood City location.  He was a member of the ABA, American Bankers Association.

Dan was currently serving on the Board of Directors for the Butler County Chamber of Commerce.  He served from 2007 to 2018, within those years he served 6 years as Treasurer; and had since returned for a 4 year term.

He was a member of the St Faustina Parish at St Christopher’s Catholic Church in Prospect.

Dan was a fun and loving husband and dad, aka bald eagle, who enjoyed family time and listening to music.  In years past, he was a member of the Prospect Boys and Girls Club where he enjoyed coaching his sons in youth sports.  He enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, golf, walking, running, and bicycling anything to be outside in nature.  He loved family get togethers and playing cards with friends.  He was an avid Pittsburgh sports enthusiast.

Survived by the love of his life his wife Kelly Marie Gable Swartz, who he married July 2, 1994; his loving sons Zachary (Victoria) Swartz of Slippery Rock and Connor Swartz of Butler, his parents Daniel and Theresa Swartz of Rochester; his brother Darrin Swartz of Cody, Wyoming; in-laws Albert and Bonnie Gable of Sugarloaf Key, FL; his 3 sisters in laws; and many nieces and nephews; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Visitation will be on Thursday, May 11,2023 from 3pm to 7pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.

Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 12,2023 at 11am in St Faustina Parish at St Christopher’s Catholic Church, 229 N Franklin Street, Prospect, with Rev. Sean Francis, Parochial Vicar, officiating.

Interment will be in Butler County Memorial Park Cemetery, Butler.
