David Weller

David John Weller, age 82, of Breakneck Bridge Road, Portersville, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 19, 2024.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years Nichole Weller.

Born August 26, 1942 on his family farm, he was the son of the late William and Marion Cleland Weller.

David was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country in Vietnam from 1964 to 1965.

While he held several jobs in manufacturing, trucking, and township maintenance, his passion in life was farming and raising cattle on his family’s 80-acre farm.

David was an active singer throughout his life.  From serenading Nichole at their wedding, singing in a quartet at church that included his sister Mary, and later joining the group The Gospel Joy Belles.  He loved gospel and country music.

He is survived by his wife Nichole Barnhart Weller, whom he married October 20,1967; his sons David Todd (Traci) Weller and Travis John (Beth) Weller; grandchildren Hannah Nichole, Abigail Marion, Amelia Sue, and Liam David; and his sister Edie Riffe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Barr, Alda McClymonds, Jean Brenneman, and Lois Bauder.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, October 26, 2024 at the Portersville Bible Church, 156 East Portersville Road, Portersville.  The family will receive friends from 2:30PM until time of service at 3:30PM.
