Donald Nagy Obituary

Donald G Nagy passed away in his home on Tuesday, December 30 ,2025, after a tough battle with cancer, with his wife and friend by his side.

Born September 22,1966 in Butler; he was the son of Margaret “Peggie” Ward Nagy and the late Louis Donald Nagy.

He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1984.  Right after graduation, Don started working for Traco where through the years the company had changed names including Alcoa, Arconic, Kawneer, but Don continued working there as a loyal, hardworking employee for 41 years.  Don held many different positions during his career but his best role was when he got his CDL and became a truck driver like his dad and granddad.  He was very grateful for the many friendships he formed over the years while working there.

Don not only enjoyed his career but also loved working at his home whether on his motorcycle, cars, big trucks, in the garage and of course lawn work, where if you came to the house it was a common sight to see him with his shirt off and a beer in hand.

Don loved Mt Chestnut Presbyterian Church and married his loving wife Kristie there in 1998.  She cared for him in their home till he passed.  Don always said his proudest accomplishment was his beautiful daughter Sierra.  He valued his wonderful family and friends and always loved the many cats in his life over the years.

He is survived by his wife Kristie S Hutchison Nagy, who he married October 31, 1998; his daughter Sierra (Josiah) Montgomery of Mechanicsburg, PA; his mother Peggie Nagy of Boardman, OH; his aunt June (Bill) Ferguson of Oakmont; in laws Robert and Suzanne Hutchison of Butler; brother in law Thomas (Bobbi) Hutchison of Butler; and so many wonderful friends and of course his faithful cat who never left his side Shadow.
