Harlan Dean Johnson, age 84, of Portersville, peacefully passed away at his residence on Friday morning, June 7, 2024.
Born June 29, 1939 in New Castle; he was the son of the late Elton and Lila Prior Johnson.
He worked at the former Prio’s Oil, Matthews Conveyor, B&W; and retired from Portersville Valve where he was a machinist.
Harlan was a life member of the Slippery Rock Township Volunteer Fire Department – Station 1400, where he had 40plus years of service.
He was a member of the Oak Grove Presbyterian Church, where he loved to volunteer and served as a former Elder and Trustee.
Harlan served previously on the Slippery Rock Township Planning Commission.
He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren; and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, and traveling.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann Johnson, who he married January 5, 2019; his children George (Lauri) Johnson of New Castle, Dean (Kori) Johnson of Wampum, Mark (Meredith) Johnson of Ellwood City; step sons Keith (Jennifer) Temenski of Rhode Island and Steven Temenski of New Jersey; his grandchildren Joshua (Samantha) Johnson, Jonathan (Cayce) Johnson, Joseph (Samantha) Johnson, Seth Johnson, Erick Johnson, Ethan Johnson, Michala Johnson, Mackenzie Johnson; his great grandchildren Parker, Macy, Mia, Maggie, and Matthew; and his sister Cheryl (Wayne) Fisher of West Sunbury.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Martha Ann Johnson, who passed away March 22, 2017; his stepmother Ruth Johnson; and his brother Richard Johnson.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 5pm to 8pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 9am to 11am, with the Funeral Service at 11am, in the Raisley Funeral Home, with Rev. Judy Wilson, his church pastor, officiating.
Interment will be in Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.
