Janet Brooks, 77 of Tucson, Ariz., died in her sleep, Thursday, August 21, 2003.
She was born in Kinsman, Ohio, in 1926, She lived most of her life in Portersville. She worked for years at the Portersville Stainless and later at Portersville Valve Co.
In 1975, She moved to Tucson with her parents to be near the rest of her family. She was a secretary in the food service department at the Tucson Medical Center until her retirement, After retirement, she did many hours of volunteering at the center.
She was an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church in Portersville and at the Catalina United Methodist Church in Tucson.
She brought joy and laughter to all those who knew her and will be missed by her many family and friends.
Surviving are a brother, Richard and his wife Shirley, and their three children, Roxanne Bacon (Doug), Ryan Brooks (Terri), all of Tucson, and Valerie Brooks Brown (Dan) of Sherwood, Oregon. She also is survived by grandnieces and grandnephews, Brooke and Gaily Bacon and Zachary and Matthew Brooks.
A memorial service will be held Saturday August 25, 2003 at the East Lawn Mortuary, Tucson.
A memorial service will be held Saturday September 6, 2003, Grave-side at the Portersville Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Dana Opp, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the TMC Foundation or the donor's favorite charity.
