James McKnight

James “Jim” McKnight, age 73, of New Castle passed away on December 18, 2014, 60 days after he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.  He passed away at his residence surrounded by his nieces and nephews, and faithful companion his Jack Russell dog “Baby”.

Born August 4, 1941 in Butler, PA, he was the son of the late Donald Arthur and Pearl Garvin McKnight.

He was a US Army Veteran, who proudly served his country from Oct. 28, 1958 to April 2, 1962.

Jim owned and operated McKnight Trucking Company and was contracted with the US Postal Service for many years.

Youngest of 12 children, he is survived by one brother and one sister.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Barbara McKnight; six brothers; and three sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.

At Jim’s request, there were no services.   His funeral arrangements were entrusted to the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
