Jerry Leroy Potts, age 69, of Butler passed away Tuesday September 15, 2015 at his residence.
Born January 13, 1946 in Elderton, Armstrong County, he was the son of the late Joseph Leroy and Leila June Hauser Potts.
He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1971.
During his career, he had worked for Eisler's Nursery, Lamison's Well Drilling, and Adobe Mining Company.
Jerry was an avid Lernerville and NASCAR Race Fan. He enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren, gambling, playing the lottery, and going to casinos.
He is survived by his daughter Jeanne (Rodney) Guy of Prospect; his step son Michael (Christine) Riding of Slippery Rock; his grandchildren Jocelyn, Cole, and Rheannon Guy and Taylor Riding; his siblings Judy (Ken) Good of Ohio, James (Brenda) Potts of Lebanon, Pa, Connie (Mike) Sutton of Evans City, Sharon Kay (Vincent Todd) Schaffer of Butler, his sister in law Charlotte Potts of Butler, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle Custer Riding Potts, who passed away July 8, 2014, his son Jerry Potts, Jr, and his brothers Joseph Potts and Samuel Potts.
There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends on Friday, September 18, 2015 from 10am until time of service at 11am in the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.
Interment with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Burial Estates.
