Mae Claire Allen Brain, of Prospect, passed away Tuesday evening at her residence.
Born April 23, 1918 in Prospect, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Louisa Beighley Allen.
She graduated the Valedictorian from Prospect High School, Class of 1936, and graduated from the Butler Business College.
Mae began her career at the Butler County Courthouse until she became self employed. Mae and her husband Charles worked in the egg and poultry business delivering to Carnegie and the Pittsburgh area for over 35 years.
She was a life time member of The Presbyterian Church of Prospect. She enjoyed walking to church with her friend Wilma, and was proud she read the bible completely through two times.
Mae was a very loving and caring person. She will be remembered for her kindness and willingness to help others through guidance and support. She loved yard work, flower gardens, cooking, and reading. She enjoyed answering questions on her favorite TV show Jeopardy.
She is survived by her three sons: John Brain of Butler, Roger (Kim) Brain of West Sunbury, Richard Brain of Prospect; one daughter: Bernadette (James) Gallo of Butler; Four Grandsons; Two Granddaughters; Three Great Grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles E. Brain, who passed away February 3, 1977; 1 Brother; and 2 Sisters.
Visitation will be Friday, August 15, 2014, 2-4pm and 7-9pm, at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect, PA. The funeral service will be 11am on Saturday in The Presbyterian Church of Prospect, 115 Church Street, Prospect.
Interment will be in the Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
