Margaret "Peg" Leise

Margaret Joan "Peg" Leise, age 84, of Portersville passed away Monday evening in Evergreen Nursing Center, Harmony.

Born December 18, 1930 in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Nora McLaughlin Moniot.

Peg was an active member of St Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.  

She was a 1949 graduate of the Slippery Rock Area School District.

Peg enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and going to Blue Grass Music Festivals.  She will be remembered for her delicious baking and cooking. 

She is survived by her husband Leroy H. Leise, who she married on September 15, 1956 at St Peter's Catholic Church in Slippery Rock, her six sons and their spouses:  Thomas (Lucia) Leise of Lisbon, CT, Timothy (Chrissy) Leise of Prospect, Scott (Jamie) Leise of Slippery Rock, James Leise of Slippery Rock, Dennis Leise of Brookfield, IL, Daryl Leise of Portersville, her four daughter and their spouses: Susan (James) Kradel of Butler, Patricia (Anthony) Kiefer of Portersville, Janet Leise of Prospect, Teresa (Karl) Portner of Franklinton, NC, 16 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sisters and 6 brothers.    

Visitation will be on Friday, February 27, 2015 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.  The funeral mass will be held Saturday, February 28, 10am in the St Christopher at the Lake Catholic Church, with Fr Joseph Feltz, officiating.   

Entombment will follow in the Greenlawn Burial Estates, Butler.

In appreciation, the family would like to thank the staff at Evergreen Nursing Center for the excellent care they gave Mrs Leise.
