Maria E. (Fife) Maines

Maria E. Fife Maines, age 84, of New Castle, passed away Thursday evening, February 5th, 2026, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.

She was born on October 14th, 1941, in Moon Township, Allegheny County, the daughter of the late Ralph and Edna (Shingler) Fife.

After raising her children, Maria devoted her time to working in home health care, serving as a caregiver in private residences as well as at local nursing homes. She was known for her compassion and dedication to those she cared for.

Maria found joy in spending time with family, planting flowers, listening to country music, and in her younger years, she loved riding horses. She was also a devoted pet owner, cherishing the company of her dogs throughout her life.

She is survived by her children Tracy (Tammy) Maines of North Carolina, Joann (Joseph) Gordon of Prospect, Glenn (Jodi) Maines, Jr. of Portersville; grandchildren Jonathan Maines, Miranda Maines, Dylan Gordon, Noah Gordon, Tyler Maines, and Spencer Maines; three sisters Katherine Koah of Mississippi, Violet Fife of Ellwood City, and Wilma Ritter of Ellwood City; and numerous nieces and nephews, including her special niece and caregiver, Rose McCall of New Castle.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph Fife, Ronald Fife, and Howard Fife.

Private services were under the direction of Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.
