Myrtle Mae (Custer) Potts

Myrtle Mae Custer Riding Potts, age 79, of Meridian, passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler.

Born June 18, 1935 in Madison, Clarion County, she was the daughter of the late Elrick and Bertha Regis Custer.

Upon the closing, Myrtle retired from Moonlight Mushroom Farms.  She then returned to work and retired from Creekside Mushroom Farms.  She enjoyed working and all the people she worked with.

Myrtle will be remembered as a hard worker, whether it was at work, at home, or while visiting or caring for her grandchildren.  She loved going places with her husband, especially stock car races and casinos.

She is survived by her loving husband of 37 years, Jerry Leroy Potts, whom she married July 1, 1977; her son Michael (Christine) Riding of Slippery Rock; her step daughter Jeanne (Rodney) Guy of Prospect; four grandchildren Taylor Riding of Slippery Rock; Jocelyn, Cole, and Rheannon Guy all of Prospect; her loving Bichon Frise dog Hercules; two sister in laws Idamae Riding of Butler; Shirley Skillman of New Castle; an aunt Spud Regis of East Butler; and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Jerry Leroy Potts, Jr; and her first husband Donald James “Mickey” Riding.

There will be no viewing, but the family will receive friends on Friday, July 11, 2014, from 10am until the time of service at 11am, in the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.  The 11am funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Connie Dunn.  Interment will be in the Greenlawn Burial Estates.
