Staff Sergeant Anderson, stationed in Allentown, PA; native of Butler.
Nathan Cole Anderson, age 28, passed away December 19, 2024. He was born September 16, 1996 in Sanford, Florida.
He was a 2015 graduate of Butler Area High School.
SSgt Anderson enlisted in the United States Marines Corps in September of 2015 and underwent recruit training aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island, South Carolina.
In February 2016, Private First Class Anderson completed Marine Combat Training aboard Camp Lejeune, North Carolina. Private First Class Anderson went on to complete eight months of training on Marine Corps Detachment Fort Lee, Virginia where he successfully became an Electro-Optical Ordnance Repairer. He was ordered to 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, North Carolina for duty. He served in multiple billets within 2/2 and deployed in support of the Black Sea Rotational Force. Sergeant Anderson transferred in October 2020 to 5th Battalion, 11th Marines, 1st Marine Division, as a Non-commissioned Officer, where he deployed in support of the Unit Deployment Program in the later months of 2021.
Staff Sergeant Anderson reported to Basic Recruiter School in April 2023, aboard MCRD San Diego. He competed school in June 2023 and was assigned to 1st Marine Corps District, Recruiting Station Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Recruiting Sub-Station Allentown, Pennsylvania as a canvassing recruiter.
His personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award), Good Conduct Medal (bronze star) and Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (third award).
Nathans hobbies were hiking, reading, and spending time with his nephews.
He is survived by his wife Hospital Corpsman Second Class Kianna Azimihashemi-Anderson; his parents Brian and Judith Hill Campbell of Butler; his siblings Kenneth (Julie) Campbell of Chicora, Joshua (Kaitlin) Barnhart of Butler, Brian Campbell, Jr., of Butler; nephews James Campbell, Owen Campbell, and Sebastian Azimihashemi; grandmother Carol Hill; mother-in-law Judy Oliman, and his brother-in-law Kamran (Bernice) Azimihashemi.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather James Hill; uncle John Hill; and his father-in-law Saeed Azimihashemi.
Private services with full military honors will be held.

Cremation services were provided by the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., Prospect.
