Rose Marie Geidel - - - Age: 81
of Orchard Drive, Prospect passed away Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 4, 2004, at her residence follwing an illness.
She was born February 28, 1922 in Armstrong Co. and was the daughter of Othmer K. and Eleanor (Houston) Heilman.
She was a former member of the Grace Lutheran Church in Manorville, where she had served on Church Council, taught Sunday School, and was active in Women's Groups. She is now a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Prospect, where she belongs to WELCA Women's Group.
She first worked as a Math Tutor and Theme Reader for the Armstrong School District, then she worked as a secretary for the Armstrong County Agency on Aging.
She belonged to Mt. Chestnut Senior Center, and enjoyed Cross Word Puzzles and Game Shows.
She is survived by: Four Daughters:
- Patricia Vagasky and her husband Alan of Prospect, with whom she made her home.
- Nancy Smith and her husband Patrick of Lansdale, Pa
- Cynthia Rohrer and her husband Amos of Nokesville, VA
- Beth Schreder and her husband David of Lancaster, Pa
Five Grandchildren
- Joseph and Vincent Vagasky of Prospect
- Matthew and William Rohrer of Nokesville, VA
- and Abigail Schreder of Lancaster
One Brother
- Richard Heilman of Amherst, OH
2 nephews, and 4 nieces
She was preceded in death by: Her husband William Geidel, One Brother, and One Grandson.
Friends will be received on Friday, Feb. 6, from 3-7PM at the Edward L Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street Prospect. The funeral service will be Saturday, 10:00AM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Prospect, with her church pastor, Rev. Gary Brown, Officiating.
Interment will be at Ford City Cemetery.
