Saranna "Sandy" Lee Cox, known by many as Nanny, age 73, of Butler, formerly of Racoon Twp., Beaver County, passed away today at the Butler Memorial Hospital with her family by her side.
Born May 30, 1942 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, she was the daughter of the late Paul Eugene and Irene Violet Snowwhite Carpenter.
She retired from the Butler Area Transit Authority, where she enjoyed working in the terminal.
As a young adult, she sang with the Starlett's on KDKA Radio.
As a young mother, she will be remembered for being very active in her children's lives, especially as a former President of the PTA at Racoon Twp. Elementary School. She also volunteered a the Aliquippa Ambulance Service.
Sandy enjoyed her children, grandchildren, singing, dancing, antiqueing, and looking at and buying on Ebay.
She is survived by her children: Mollie (Eric) Bryan of Waynesboro, VA; Rebecca Gray of Bulter; her grandchildren Carly Wamboldt of Akron, OH, Abbey Wamboldt of Butler, Andi McNanny of Butler, Emma Bryan of Waynesboro, VA, Tess Bryan of Waynesboro, VA, great granddaughter Madalyn McNanny of Bulter, and her best friend Martha Lokomski of Aliquippa.
