Timothy James Olexsak, 60, of Connoquenessing, was witty, virtuous, inquisitive and hardworking.  He was born May 1, 1955, in Butler, Pennsylvania, and he passed away November 03, 2015.

During his senior year at Butler High School he met his loving wife, Mariellen.  Ever since they married on July 1, 1978, it’s always been “Tim and Mary.”

Tim’s career as a fabricator in the area’s steel industry spanned 40 years, wherein he took much pride from his work.  He was most recently employed by Woodward, Inc., in Mars.  Over the years he built his family’s home, which he designed and constructed with the finest craftsmanship with the help of his friends and family.

Tim bestowed in his children a deep respect for the environment that led his daughter Sarah to devote her work to sustainable energy.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a lifetime member of the Butler Hunting and Fishing Club.  His appreciation of the sport inspired his son Jacob’s career as a Pennsylvania Wildlife Conservation Officer.

A long-time supporter of WYEP, Tim had an incredible ability to find artists with unique and innovative sounds.  He loved going to concerts and discovering new music with his son Andrew.

Tim's never ending thirst for knowledge and sense of adventure led him and his family on travels near and far.  If you were fortunate enough to know Tim, you have heard of all of these things and more in one of his many stories.

Tim was a member of the St. Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church in Prospect, where he was very active in the parish community for over 35 years.

Tim is survived by his wife Mariellen M. (Hook) Olexsak; his children Sarah (Jacob Robison) Olexsak of Washington, DC, Jacob (Kristin) Olexsak and grandsons Lukas and Liam Olexsak of Hartstown, PA, and Andrew Olexsak of Connoquenessing; three brothers:  Rodney (Barbara) Bachman, Michael Olexsak, and Patrick Olexsak; his sister Patricia (Paul) Turk; brother-in-law Jim (Stephanie) Hook; sisters-in-law Judy (Marvin) Grossman, Martha McClure; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Michael Olexsak and his mother Janice (Bachman) Olexsak, sister-in-law Patricia Olexsak, and brother-in-law John Hook.

Visitation will be on Thursday, November 5 from 2-4PM and 6-8PM at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect.

Rosary will be 10AM Friday, November 6 at St. Christopher’s, 232 North Franklin Street, Prospect.  The Funeral Mass will follow at 11AM in the church, with Father Joseph Feltz, officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
