Majorie Weir Rochon, age 71, of Butler, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2017, in the Butler Memorial Hospital following a 2 year courageous battle with cancer.
She was born and raised in Scotland. Born on March 30, 1946 in Grennock Renfrewshire, she was the daughter of the late Elizabeth Isabella O’Brien Weir.
She was catholic by faith.
In the earlier years she was a seamstress in Scotland and then moved to Butler where she worked at the former Bobbie Brooks.
Her hobbies were fishing, casinos, and traveling, especially her yearly trips back to her native land of Scotland to visit with family and friends.
In July of 2015, she retired after 30 years of waitressing at Mama Rosa’s Restaurant, Butler, where she enjoyed working and making friendships.
She is survived by her companion of over 25 years Richard Kuhns, her daughter Diane (Greg Spirk) Gray of Portersville; grandson Rick Gray of Slippery Rock; granddaughter Samantha Gray of Butler; great grandson Colton Sanderson; her siblings James (Catherine) Weir of Australia; Margaret Hughes of Scotland; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 5 to 7pm at the Edward L. Raisley Funeral Home, 387 Main Street, Prospect. The blessing service will at 7pm, in the Funeral Home, with Father Joseph Feltz, of the St Christopher at the Lake Roman Catholic Church, officiating.
Interment will be on Thursday, 10am at Crown Hill Cemetery, Prospect.
