Gary Lee James

Gary Lee "Hopper" James, age 73, of Prospect, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022, peacefully at his home.

Born March 29, 1948 in Chicago, IL; he was the son of the late Harold “Dutch” and Gloria “Charlie” Lesemann James.

He was a US Marine Corp Veteran, who proudly served his country from 1967 to 1971.

He was retired from Castle Steel in Michigan, where he worked in the maintenance department.

He was proud to be a licensed pilot, and he enjoyed planes, riding motorcycles, hunting, and was a competitive shooter.

He is survived by his loving wife Doris J. Locke James, who he married September 5, 1967; his daughters Patricia Lynn Boyd of Prospect, Laura Lee James of Michigan; three grandchildren Shayne, Alexis, Billie Rose; two great grandchildren Myla, Kingston; and his half sister Sandy James of Butler.

Visitation will be on Saturday, February 5, 2022 from 2pm to 4pm at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.  Services will conclude with military honors by the Bantam Marine Corps League Detachment #743 of Butler.
