Roger Dean Edgar

Roger Dean Edgar, age 73, of Portersville, passed away Saturday afternoon, October 17, 2020, with his family by his side, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born March 20, 1947 in Monmouth, Illinois, he was the son of the late Lester and Betty Stemp Edgar.

He was a member of the New Testament Baptist Church in Butler.

He was a US Army Veteran, where he proudly served his country from 1968 to 1971.

Roger was retired from the Salvation Army where he drove truck and picked up household goods.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lee Phillips Edgar, who he married October 14, 1989; step son Randy (Stephanie Bush) Sammis of Evans City; grandchildren Christopher and Abigail Bush; and sister Bonnie (Don) McCracken of Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside services with military honors will be on Friday, October 23, 2020 at 11am in the Evans City Cemetery, please meet at the cemetery.

Cremation services were provided by Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect.
