Ronald Francis Platt, age 78, of Portersville, passed away in the Butler Memorial Hospital on Friday, December 25, 2020.
Born May 12, 1942 at the former St Francis Hospital in Lawrenceville; he was the son of the late Edward and Dolores Thinnes Platt.
He was Catholic.
He began his career in the maintenance department at the Hoag Hospital in California. Upon returning to this area, he worked maintenance and janitor at MSA The Safety Company in Cranberry Twp. Ron, along with his wife, then became the cleaning staff at the Arnett Carbis Toothman, lllp. in New Castle, where they were treated like family and he retired from.
He and his wife loved traveling and camping, where they had a memorable trip with his siblings to the New England States. He loved the outdoors, where he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a faithful volunteer at the Portersville Food Pantry.
He was loved by everyone he met, and he would remind you to “Be Happy”. His grandchildren will remember him as the “Jack of All Trades, Master of None” kind of guy and was known as Reginal P Van Snort.
He is survived by his loving wife Mary Ann Rall Platt, who he married February 19, 1966; his daughter Kimberley (Richard) Arensberg of Portersville, and his loving grandchildren Paige, Heinz III, and Esme; his siblings Dolores McCune of Monroeville, Diane (Tom) Gollick of Cranberry Twp., and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers Eddie, Joseph, and Paul Platt.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 from 2-4pm with the blessing service to begin at 4pm, at the Raisley Funeral Home and Cremation Services, pc., 387 Main Street, Prospect, PA.
